Buying event tickets in Nigeria can still feel like a gamble. Organizers worry about high service fees discouraging ticket buyers at checkout, fake tickets slipping past the gate.
Attendees want a checkout that works on the first try and a ticket that scans when they arrive. We tested eight of the most widely used ticketing platforms in Nigeria to help you choose the right one, comparing them on fees, payment options, buyer experience, check-in security, organizer tools and customer support. Our testing was completed in 1st October 2026, and we checked each platform’s live pricing on that date.
Disclosure: My Access Plug is our own platform, and we have a commercial relationship with it. We applied the same criteria to all eight platforms and have described the strengths and limitations of each one honestly, so you can judge the ranking for yourself.
1. My Access Plug (MAP)

My Access Plug is a Nigerian ticketing platform for organizers who want to sell tickets, check guests in and track marketing results from one account.
Fees: A service fee of 5% plus ₦50 per checkout. The organizer chooses whether to absorb the fee or pass it to the ticket buyer.
Payouts: Organizers are paid on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Payments: Card, bank transfer and cryptocurrency. Popular cryptocurrencies are accepted for events with ticket prices above ₦5,000.
Buyer experience: Checkout takes just a few steps. Buyers receive an order confirmation email straight after purchase. The QR code tickets are sent by email 3 hours before the event, and the QR code is scanned at the door.
Organizer tools:
Dashboard for tracking ticket sales
Discount codes
Promoter links to track which promoters bring in sales
Tracking pixel installation to measure marketing return on ad spend
Organizers can add staff as ticket scanners to check tickets at the gate
Security:
QR codes are sent only 3 hours before the event, which limits screenshots and forwarded tickets from circulating early.
Ticket scanners check tickets at the gate using the access the organizer grants.
Resale is built into the app. Buyers can resell a ticket for up to 10% below face value, which discourages inflated resale prices. Organizers can allow or block ticket resale for their event.

Support: Support is handled through in-app messaging, available 8am to 5pm every day, with responses within one hour.
MAP suits organizers who want built-in marketing tracking, controlled gate entry and a resale market that limits inflated prices. Buyers get an immediate confirmation, and the QR codes follow 3 hours before the event, which cuts down early sharing.
Support ends at 5pm and runs only through the app, so organizers who need phone or WhatsApp contact or evening help should weigh that.
2. TIX Africa

Overview: Tix is a self-service ticketing platform for event creators in Africa. It was founded in Lagos in 2019 and also operates in South Africa and Ghana, with plans to expand to Rwanda and the United Kingdom. Every user gets the full feature set, since the paid Tix Pro subscription was discontinued in 2023.
Fees: Tix is free for organising free events. For paid events, the fee is 8% plus ₦100 per paid ticket. The organizer can pass online ticket fees to attendees, and there is no fee on free tickets.
Payouts: Every Friday
Payments: Card, bank transfer, mobile money and USSD.
Event types: Free events, paid events, invite-only events, virtual events, recurring events and 1:1 events.
Organizer tools:
Unlimited discount codes
Detailed reports and a sales dashboard
Ticket inventory management
Social sharing tools, emails to attendees and automated event reminders
Search engine optimisation and listing on the Tix Discovery page
Custom event page link, unlimited custom checkout fields and four event themes
Security: Tix is PCI-DSS 3.2 Level 1 compliant. The pricing page does not list promoter links, a tracking pixel, resale controls or QR timing. [Confirm these on the live product before publishing.]
Check-in: Mobile apps for attendee check-in and check-in analytics.
Support: Chat and email support. [Add support hours and response times if you can verify them. The pricing page does not list phone or WhatsApp support.
Verdict Tix suits organizers who want a simple, transparent fee on every paid ticket, a long feature list at every price, and a discovery listing for extra reach. Its fee is higher than My Access Plug's on most ticket sizes, so organizers should compare the two using their own ticket prices.
Fee comparison note for the article: MAP charges per checkout and Tix charges per ticket, so the two are not directly comparable unless you state a basis. For example, on a ₦5,000 single-ticket purchase:
MAP: 5% (₦250) + ₦50 = ₦300
Tix: 8% (₦400) + ₦100 = ₦500
Explain the basis clearly in the article, since a buyer buying four tickets in one checkout pays very different amounts on each platform.
